My studies in International Development have taken me to Dakar, Senegal for my fourth year of University. I have been welcomed onto the team of BASIF-Sarl, a social enterprise that seeks to reduce un-employment in the region of Guediawaye. Development is a field fraught with controversies, moral dilemmas and wickedly unsolvable problems...and I love it. I’m searching for that elusive form of development work out there that is filled with humility, respect, and mutual learning. One that works on problems without diluting, polluting, or homogenizing people. A search with lots of adventures to be had along the way.
