Hujambo? (‘ How are you?’). I’m Insiya – a Psycholinguistics and Anthropology student at the University of Toronto, Scarborough campus (UTSC); I just finished my third year and feel that
this immersive experience is a wonderful bridge towards completing my fourth and final year of
the undergraduate experience.
As a Communications and Marketing Officer at the Sukoine University Graduate Entrepreneurs
Cooperative Limited (SUGECO), I hope to combine two of my interests - academic research and the education section. As part of my 3-month SWB mandate, I will be working in Morogoro, Tanzania – a town that I have heard much about, but have not yet visited during my past travels to Tanzania. I am thrilled to be working at an organization affiliated with a Tanzanian university
– The Sukoine University of Agriculture (SUA) in Morogoro, Tanzania. I hope that during my current mandate, I will continue to further explore my interest in both the research and educational sector, whilst also enhancing my Swahili – a language that is part of my family history, but still not one via which I can adequately (and creatively) express myself.
