I am volunteering at the University College of Rathmalana (USR) in Sri Lanka, a college affiliated with University of Vocational Technology (UNIVOTEC). They offer programs such as fashion design, food technology, and television post production, with an aim at providing practical education beyond simply classroom and textbook knowledge. As a communications and soft skill enhancement officer I help students develop soft skills through learner centered activities. I will be with UCR from September 2017- April 2018 as part of the International Development program at the University of Waterloo.
The Volunteers’ Blog is a space open to all volunteers engaging in international cooperation. It is a space for volunteers to share their experiences supporting community and country development accross the globe. Through this initiative, CECI invite you to discover the stories of volunteers all over the world!
